Secondary Athletics Carnival Wrap Up

That’s a Wrap.

The Varsity Viking Athletics results have been tallied and the results are in, CONGRATULATIONS to Miami who were victorious this year closely followed by Kirra with Burleigh in third and fourth going to Rainbow. Our records tell us that this is the first time ever that Miami has won the Athletics Carnival!

In a year of firsts we also saw the largest amount of new records ever achieved, twenty-seven in total were broken – this is a reflection of the calibre of athletes now at Varsity. Some notable performances on the day were Lucas Thorn in Javelin, throwing over 50m, David Bolongi in the 100m almost cracking the 12 second mark and Porscha Ring, Sienna McMullen and Cameron Bodley for their multiple new records.
